Common Questions

What you should know about working with us.

We’ve answered some of the most common questions families and business owners ask when considering NewPoint Capital.

Who is &Partners and why do you work with them?

&Partners is our broker-dealer and investment advisor, providing the technology platform, custody services through Fidelity, and operational support that enables us to serve you effectively. This partnership allows us to maintain independence in our recommendations while accessing institutional-quality resources and support.

How is your practice structured and how can that benefit me?

NewPoint Capital operates as a collaborative team rather than individual advisors working in isolation. When you work with us, you benefit from coordinated specialists across investments, tax planning, estate strategies, and alternative investments. We meet to discuss client situations, helping your planning receive multiple perspectives and integrated attention. This structure also provides continuity—if something happens to one advisor, your relationship with the practice can continue without disruption.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

We serve affluent professionals, business owners, established families, and individuals navigating significant financial transitions. Our clients typically value sophisticated planning capabilities delivered with personal attention, appreciate intellectual rigor balanced with clear communication, and seek advisors invested in long-term relationships. We work with clients with situations requiring coordinated specialists across multiple financial disciplines.

What makes your work with alternative investments different?

Our team brings institutional investment experience from firms such as Blackstone and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, providing knowledge in private equity, private credit, and other alternative strategies. Through our &Partners platform, we can access opportunities typically reserved for institutional investors or ultra-high-net-worth families.

We don’t believe alternatives are appropriate for everyone, but for qualified clients seeking enhanced diversification potential and different return characteristics than traditional portfolios, we can provide access and guidance.

How often do we meet and communicate?

We typically conduct in-depth reviews at least annually, with additional meetings as situations warrant. Beyond scheduled reviews, we remain accessible when questions arise and can reach out when market conditions or changing circumstances require attention. The frequency and format of communication adapts to your preferences—some clients prefer quarterly check-ins while others need less frequent contact.

What happens during an initial consultation?

Our first meeting focuses on understanding your situation, goals, and concerns. We ask questions about your financial circumstances, family dynamics, current planning, and what matters most to you. We explain how we work, answer your questions, and discuss whether our capabilities align with your needs. There’s no obligation and no pressure—we want to determine whether we’re a good fit before moving forward.

Alternative investments (such as hedge funds, private capital, and real estate funds) are speculative, illiquid, and intended for long-term investors who meet specific income and net worth requirements. They involve high fees, complex strategies, and greater risks, including loss of capital, use of leverage, limited liquidity, and reduced regulatory oversight compared to mutual funds. Investors should carefully review all offering materials, including the private placement memorandum, for full details on fees, risks, and investment terms before investing.
